The Wedding Experience
Congratulations on your engagement, I'm so glad you are here! I am Shantel, your Seattle wedding photographer. This is my only and favorite job! I am here to help your wedding day visions come true and make it an enjoyable experience!
Every couple has a unique love story, your wedding is a reflection of that story and I am here to capture yours.
My photography style is to capture your day true to color and as it unfolds naturally. Your day will be filled with intimate moments, rolls of laughter and joy. I am here to capture those moments as authentically as possible and also gently guide you into natural poses that feel true to you.
How it works
In order to give you the best, we’ll meet via phone call or video chat. This is where I learn more about your vision for your day, what you love about each other, and make sure we’re a good fit for each other.
If we both feel like we are a great fit we will find the perfect package for your wedding day. To make it official we’ll sign a digital contract and pay the non-refundable retainer to secure your date.
Your engagement session is like a date in the midst of wedding planning!
I'll send you my guide on how to prepare, and what to wear and use this time to get you used to my posing style and prompts. We will talk about locations and pick a place that feels like you.
PRE WEDDING PREP
On our one-month pre-wedding call we will fine-tune the flow of your day, family formals and timeline. This helps ease wedding stress and keep things organized and fun.
THE BIG DAY
Your day is here! Today will be filled with laughs, tears, and moments you’ll remember for the rest of your life.
The goal is to create natural-looking relaxed images filled with authentic emotion that tell your story.
8 weeks later it's the delivery day! This is when you will receive your online gallery. From here we custom design your album and print your photos.
You won't know how valuable a photograph is until that is all that is left
Print them as you want and as big as you want!
I want you to have access to more than just the digital files. You deserve to have something real at the end of all of this to preserve your memories.
Collections are made up of four components:
Coverage (time spent making your phots)
Post production (editing, curating, designing of album, etc.)
Digitals (high res) delivered on an online gallery
Products (Albums, Prints, Canvas)
Most wedding on average are 7-8 hours, with cultural celebrations averaging 10-12 hours. An elopement micro-wedding averages 3-4 hours. for more details visit my blog I have on How to know what package to book.
Wedding photography typically makes up 15-25% of your wedding budget. A good number to set aside to start would be $3-6k for your wedding. If you are planning on a destination wedding, travel fees will apply. It is best to sit down with your photographer to discuss to travel and photography needs. Lastly, is the sales tax. If you are in Washington sales tax will added to your collection and usually hovers around 10% in the Seattle area but does change periodically.
Tips for finding the best photographer for you
1. Find a photographer that values you! I invest time in getting to know you and your wedding vision. I make it fun, simple and straightforward. This helps you relax in front of my camera and your images look natural
2. Find the style you love. I deliver true to color, classic imagery for you to enjoy for years to come.
3. Look beyond portfolio highlights. Ask to see full wedding galleries. I love sharing wedding galleries with couples to show them how and what a wedding day looks like from getting ready to send off.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is your approach to photographing a wedding day?
My style is a blend of documentary and naturally posed images. I help find the best lighting, backgrounds and composition to deliver the best photographs possible. I will guide couples and family members during the formal portrait part of the day (by instructing minor details like where your hands go) but document the candid moments as they happen naturally.
Yes! I actually love to travel. It warms my heart even more when I get to travel and photograph couples. So, where are we going?
Do you travel?
What if we are awkward in front of the camera?
This is something I hear from most of my couples but by the end there singing a different tune with statements like "Wow, we had so much fun". This is why getting to know you is so important.
"Shantel is amazing!"
To say that I am thrilled with my photos is an understatement. If I could give 100 stars I would. If you are looking for a photographer look no further. She is super accommodating, quick to respond, and if you haven’t taken photos before makes you instantly feel comfortable. That combined with photography skills makes her unbeatable for the price. I will be recommending Shantel to everyone I know. Thank you Shantel for capturing our special day, we have a magical day with beautiful photos to look back on for the rest of our lives.
