It is no secret that I love being an adventure elopement photographer, so when Cody and Ashley agreed to have their engagement photos taken at Franklin Falls in North Bend, I did a not-so-little happy dance. This location was perfect for the happy couple - waterfalls, sunsets, and beautiful trails set the tone for their wedding that will take place at Evergreen Meadows in Snoqualmie in just one month! I love it when couples decide to incorporate all of the beautiful nature that the state of Washington has to offer, and this couple did a fantastic job of doing just that.
Per usual, I used to hike to our scenic photography spot to learn more about them. Cody told me the most darling story about his proposal to Ashley during her surprise birthday party. As if the party itself was not unexpected enough, Cody took one knee with the help of their K-9 bestfriend and proposed to Ashley in front of all their closest family and friends. Who could say no to a dog with a bandana tied around his neck that says "My humans are getting married"? Definitely not Ashley! Plus, these two are absolutely perfect for each other and you can see the love radiate from them in their photos.
Getting to know Cody and Ashley has been so rewarding and I absolutely cannot wait to photograph their wedding in just a few short weeks. The two could not have picked a more perfect date than September 5th, either! This day just so happens to fall right between their Grandparents anniversaries. I absolutely love it when couples make a tribute to their family whether it is with heirlooms, special photos, dances, or like Cody and Ashley did, choosing a special date.
Cody and Ashley, I cannot thank you enough for choosing me to do your Engagement photos at Franklin Falls. The fresh air, conversation, and connection with you two and nature really made this Seattle engagement photographer's heart incredibly happy. I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds for you two, and am honored to play even a small role in your memories.
