PNW Wedding/ Kitsap Memorial State Park/ Breidablik Chapel/ Poulsbo, Wa / Shantel Wall Photography

Every once in a while I get the chance to work with high school sweethearts, and Elizabeth and Shawn did not disappoint! This sweet couple met when they were 15 through facebook of all places, and have been together ever since. They chose to have an intimate sunset wedding at Breidablik Chapel in Poulsbo. Breidablik has built a reputation for being an intimate and quiet place for couples to celebrate their nuptials, which artfully designs a warm and cozy atmosphere for their newlyweds. Behind the chapel begins the towering evergreens that the Pacific Northwest is known for, and just all around builds the perfect experience.

Elizabeth and Shawn kept with the nature they were surrounded by and had a whole suite of wood and white decor that ranged from their personalized guest board to the Willowtree topper for their cake. This blending of nature and refinery worked out perfectly for them and their personalities and was just the absolute sweetest. Elizabeth went with a Bellevue Bridal for her gown and had her makeup put together by Gel. Everything was tied together with florals and greenery from Etsy. Shawn rounded out the traditionalist look with a classic tux and tie combo from Men’s Wearhouse.

We decided to grab some portraits outside between sprinkles of rain alongside the Puget Sound in Kitsap Memorial Park. This is yet another location which is super popular for weddings simply because of the never ending scenery. Rolling clouds, sparkling water and distant forestry created the perfect backdrop for this couples loving embraces. Photographing these portraits was bittersweet however. Originally we had planned to have this wedding in September, but Shawn was called earlier than expected to serve his country in the United States Marines and they wanted to be sure to formally tie the knot before Shawn had to head to base.

All in all this was an amazing little sunset wedding and I had such a great time working alongside Pixel Dust Weddings as part of this couple’s imaging team. I know that Shawn and Elizabeth will embody the love and reverence they had for each other on February 17th for many years to come, and I, Shantel Wall Photography, wishes them nothing but the best!
